Obituary

Ronald E. Simpson, age 87, of Stratford, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2023. He grew up in Bridgeport and served in the U.S. Army (25th Infantry) from 1954 to 1956. After serving in the military, he became a lifelong tool and die-maker. Ron worked for over 30 years at Lacey’s Manufacturing in Bridgeport, where he made several lifelong friends. He enjoyed fishing, boating, woodworking and was an avid fan of the New York Giants and Mets. Ron especially loved spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by his wife of over 65 years, Helen Sinchak Simpson, of Stratford, his children, Patricia Schultz of Waterbury, James Simpson of Stratford, Diane Early, and her husband, Brian Early of Stratford and his adoring grandchildren, Christina, John, Patrick, Mary Kate, and Caroline, of Stratford. He was predeceased by his parents, Gordon and Ruth (Wilson) Simpson of Bridgeport, and his brother Gordon Simpson Jr. of Stratford. All services were held privately. Arrangements were entrusted to the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2220 Main Street, Stratford. For those who so desire, donations can be made in memory of Ron to the Alzheimer’s Association, 8180 Greensboro Drive, Suite 400, McLean, VA 22102.
