Shirley M. Comlish Kochiss, age 97, of Stratford, CT, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was born on June 27, 1927, in Bridgeport and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Esther Westberg Comlish. Shirley was an incredibly hard worker, known for her selflessness and always thinking of others first. She enjoyed bowling with her daughter-in-law and friends, taking occasional trips to the casino, and Friday night card games with loved ones. Shirley was also a dedicated fan of 'Days of Our Lives,' the NY Yankees, and UCONN women's basketball, never missing a chance to cheer for her favorite teams. Known for her holiday hosting, endless cooking, and baking, Shirley always had something in store whenever you visited. Her kitchen was a place of warmth that brought comfort and joy to everyone. Her dedication to her family and her unwavering support will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Shirley’s legacy of kindness, generosity, and love will continue to live on through her family and the many lives she touched. She will be remembered for her warm heart, strong spirit, and generosity. Shirley is survived by her three loving children, Andrew T. Kochiss Jr., Mark J. Kochiss and his wife, Joanne, and Cheryl E. Rasmussen and her husband, Bill. Shirley was a cherished grandmother to several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life, and is also survived by her sister, Sally Grich of Florida. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Andrew T. Kochiss Sr., her brothers, Jack and Clayton (Sonny) Comlish, and her daughter, Debra Milano. A memorial service will be held to honor Shirley's life on Friday, July 5, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at The Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2220 Main Street, Stratford, CT. A service will immediately follow at 10:30 AM officated by Deacon Joseph Koletar. Burial will be private and at the convience of the family. Rest in peace, Shirl. Your loving spirit will forever be in our hearts.
