Thomas W Egan

Egan, Thomas W. Egan, age 95, of Fairfield, beloved husband of the late Edith Weldon Egan, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2016 in his residence with his loving family by his side. Thomas was born on April 7, 1921 in Bridgeport and was the son of the late Albert and Rose Brophy Egan. He was a proud US Naval Veteran, who served his country during World War II from 1942 to 1944. Thomas graduated from Yale in 1947 with a Bachelor of Arts degree and was a manager of W. T. Grant stores throughout three states, in 1960 he moved his family to Lake Hills, Fairfield, where lived. He was employed by Southern Connecticut University, as a personnel officer and was a lifelong member of St. Pius X Church in Fairfield, where he was Eucharistic Minister for many years. He is survived by one son, Kenneth Egan and wife Sue of Beacon Falls, two daughters, Eileen Pannese and husband Dan of Trumbull and Karen Vickerelli and husband Michael of Stratford, nine grandchildren, Alyssa Goduti and husband Philip, Dr. Danielle Dinerman Pannese and husband Jason, Kenneth Egan and fiancé Shannon, Justin Egan and wife Kristine, Shay Malagisi and husband Fabio, Christopher Pannese and wife Jamie, Dr. Ashley Pannese and Maris Vickerelli, four great grandchildren, two sisters, Nancy Caulfield and husband William of Stratford and Sally Tolster of Florida and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his beloved wife Edith, Thomas was also predeceased by one son, Thomas W. Egan.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday May 26, 2016 at 10:00 AM in St. Pius X Faith Center Chapel, 834 Brookside Drive, Fairfield, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Leonard Kvedas. Interment will follow in Mt. Grove Cemetery Easton with full military honors. Friends may call at the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2220 Main Street, Stratford on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Thomas's memory to Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd, Branford, CT 06405.
