George Katinger

Katinger, George Katinger, age 102, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of the late Anna Repka Katinger, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2015 in his residence with his loving family by his side. George was born on January 22, 1913 in Kurima, Slovakia and was employed by Peerless Aluminum Foundry as a patternmaker for his entire working career. George was an usher at Sts. Cyril and Methodius and Holy Name of Jesus, a true Yankees fan, an avid bowler until the age of 95, enjoyed playing pinochle with friends and cherished spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. George is survived by two sons, John Katinger of Milis, Mass. and George E. Katinger and wife Elaine of Stratford, one daughter, Marien M. Kurbikoff and husband Paul of Beacon Falls, six grandchildren, Scott Katinger and wife Amy, Alison Katinger, Josh Katinger and wife Allison, Sarah Katinger, Erin Barkasy and husband Russell and U.S.M.C. Captain Karl Kurbikoff and wife Lisa, two great grandchildren, Alexander and Marisa Kurbikoff, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his beloved wife, Anna of 71 years, George was also predeceased by several brothers and sisters.

At the family's request all services were private. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2220 Main Street, Stratford.
