Wendell C Stagg

Stagg, Wendell C. Stagg, age 91, of Stratford, beloved husband of Helen A. Drozdowski Stagg, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2017 at the Jewish Home for the Elderly. Mr. Stagg was born on June 19, 1925 in West Haven and was the son of the late Carl and Marguerite Smith Stagg. He was a 40 year resident of Stratford, CT and a Veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired from a long career as a cook from Jimmy's of Savin Rock in West Haven, CT. In his younger days he was an antique car restoration enthusiast, enjoyed visiting the Hershey Car Show and refinishing furniture. In addition to his beloved wife Helen, Mr. Stagg is also survived by step-children Elaine Jones and husband Tracy Smith of Middletown, Eric Majewski and wife Claudia of Guilford, Ellen Majewski of Milford, his sisters, Natalie Brooks and husband Peter of Woodbridge, CT, Betty Golebewski and husband Stan of Meriden, CT, his brother Alan Stagg of Lebanon, CT and several nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 10, 2017 at 10:30 AM in St. James Church, 2070 Main Street, Stratford, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Rogerio Perri. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Friday, February 10, 2017 at 8:30 to 10:00 AM in the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2220 Main Street, Stratford.
